Asbestos Worker - Skid Incinerator
If you couldn't tell by listening to just about anything I've released Shallow North Dakota has been a huge influence on me. A little less than a year ago I heard the unfortunate diagnosis of their drummer/singer Tony Jacome, who by every account I've heard was one of the world's few genuinely stellar human beings.
I was never fortunate enough to have met him myself. However, I have been fortunate enough to have made friends with some very talented people. Some of whom had known him personally. Having wanted to cover a particular song of Shallow's for quite some time. I thought if I could get just a few of them to do a cover as well we might be able to raise a little money for Tony's treatments. Since both Shallow and Asbestos Worker have releases on NO LIST RECORDS I asked my brother from another motherland Lee Repko to join me and try to get the band's blessing to do the covers.
In less than a week and with the help of everyone involved we had enough bands to equal what would become a double disk tribute compilation.
I've asked myself the question, "if I died today what would my accomplishments be? Would I make a ripple in this sea of humanity?". I initially wanted to maybe show Tony by getting bands from multiple genre's and around the globe that he made a wave!
Sadly Tony lost his battle with cancer but this testament stands, though I'm sure his wife and kids, friends and family didn't need any more reasons to know their loved one was special. But hopefully they can look at this and add it to the list!
So with the help and guidance of the aforementioned Lee Repko and NO LIST RECORDS and Rainer Fronz and Learning Curve Records I present to you Rhino Body Lover!
